I recently photographed and event in the SSE SWALES stadium in Cardiff.
Being a bit of a technology geek I could not help but have a peek at the equipment that Duke AV
With some lovely reflective light backlighting the equipment they were using, I couldn’t help myself, I had to take a photo.
I’ve added an image of the stage setup so you can see what they do.
I bought my wife a driving experience as a present at Llandow Circuit from The Experience Mega Store.
It was a great day out and very organised, needless to say, my wife absolutely loved it. I also thoroughly enjoyed it taking photos of all the lovely cars.
Highly recommend giving it a go if you are a bit of a petrol head.
I have been photographing physiological cell culture workstations (not that I know what they are for).
I was contacted by The Individual Agency to do a location product shoot for Baker Ruskinn in Bridgend.
The job was to shoot large items on location to be transferred to a pure white background. I set up our portable lighting kit on location to illuminate the products.
Each finished image was a combination of two shots to ensure the LCD display and the interior could be seen properly.
Just finished shooting the last of a series of 3 shoots for Recofloor.
A trip out to Cardiff to do a set of images at 3D Flooring.
A great bunch of guys who were more than happy to help out during the shoot, great location too, plenty of interest to set up shots.
Sometimes I get an idea pop into my head for a shot. I’ll be honest, most of the time that’s where they will stay.
I don’t have a great deal of time to indulge myself as far as photography is concerned, normally too busy shooting for clients or relaxing.
As it was a stunning day today in Wales, I thought I better take advantage of the fact and headed the beach at Ogmore with my kit and my son.
The idea I had was a walking boot splashing in a rock pool as if worn by an invisible person. I thought this would sit great in my portfolio.
I have to admit the shoot went very well, my son did an excellent job of splashing my wife’s Hoggs of Fife walking boot into the pool and holding the laces.
I lit the shot with natural light, of which there as plenty and filled in with a silver reflector.
For those settings fans out there ISO100 F3.5 1/1250sec
Office image in Cardiff asked me to photograph the new Trade Centre Wales car showroom in Aberdare, and recently upgraded Neath branch.
My brief was to capture features of the design of the showroom and offices. There were so many amazing touches from the marine fish tank in the waiting area, to the sleek looking offices, to the polished aluminium pillars in the entrance.
There were so many great looking features in the place it was a pleasure to photograph. I even got to photograph some lovely cars alongside the work that has been done to the workshops.
I have to say I was very impressed with the place and the work carried out by Office Image.

The Grand hotel Swansea contacted us because they wanted images to promote their venue as a wedding location.
The function room was immaculately presented with candle holder, chair covers, flowers and table decorations, all the finery you’d expect at a great wedding.
I set about capturing various shots including single tables, full room and detail shots.
The images are being used on a variety of ways including the website pull up banners and the wedding brochure.

I’ve just taken delivery of a pair of Godox RS600P portable studio lights.
I Up until now I have always used speedlights on location. I have to be honest, even though they are highly portable, light to work with and take up no space while transporting I have always craved that bit more power that studio lighting gives you.
I decided to take the plunge and get myself some location strobes. Looking at reviews and getting personal recommendations I decided the RS600P’s were what I needed to go for.
I have only unwrapped the one and as yet I haven’t tried them out, but they look the business. Strong solid build, high quality meterials, well packaged in it’s own protective box.
Right now I have a power pack charging so hopefully before too long I’ll be able to do a review on them and get some sample shots up for you to see.
