A recent job took me down to Penarth Marina, a lovely location to which I had never been.
The location I was photographing was the newly refurbished Cambia Consulting offices.
As very clean, modern and sleek set up, with light wood flooring from Polyflor was a great combination.
Work today took me to Builth Wells for an architecture shoot of sorts. I’ve been photographing a new social housing project by Wales and West.
They have built a really pretty estate on the location of the old hospital.
I’ve been working with a local company Dragon Leather Products that manufactures and distributes custom-made top quality leather. The manufacturing and design workshops are operated by Mark Roche, a Master Craftsman and Saddler who has 15 years within the leather industry. I was lucky enough to have a look around the workshop to see the items being produced and hand finished before being given the job of photographing them.
Creating clean images of a variety of leather products including keyfobs, folders, bags and guitar straps. All items were grey carded to ensure accurate colour reproduction.
Yesterday I had an assignment at Penarth Marina photographing an office. After I finished I had an hour or so to waste before going on to my next client.
Having never been to Penarth Marina before I thought I’d take a look around. I came across Pier 64 wine bar and steakhouse, a very interesting building with lots of great textures and materials.
The building really caught my eye and knew I could get some great shots of it. After waiting about 5 minutes for the clouds to break to get extra contrast to the shot, I started clicking.
With very few shots I knew I had something that could be used in the Image IQ portfolio.
Today I was commissioned by a local artist to photograph her portrait for use on her website and media for an upcoming exhibition in Porthcawl.
Sarah Topham is an amazingly talented artist with an obvious love for Elvis. Personally I am not an Elvis fan, but Sarah’s creations really were worth seeing.
The exhibition is at Harris Printers 16-18 Mary St, Porthcawl CF36 3YA, and takes place over the Elvis Festival weekend. The open evening is on Thursday 22nd September.
